2019 Board of Trustees OFFICER Nomination/Qualification Form

As referenced in Article VI, Section 3. and Section 3., Paragraph a. and Article VIII, Sections 1 and 2 of the LeadingAge Florida Bylaws  The Board shall be comprised of the elected officers; Chair, Chair-Elect; the Immediate Past Chair; two At-Large Trustees; one Associate Trustee; and any LeadingAge Florida elected representative to the LeadingAge, Inc. Policy Congress.

Officer Definition
"The state officers of the Association shall be: a Chair, a Chair-Elect, a Housing Chair, a Continuing Care Chair, an Assisted Living and Home and Community-Based Services Chair, a Nursing Home Chair, a Secretary, a Treasurer, and the Immediate Past Chair of the Association (collectively, “Officers,” and each an “Officer”).

*The Chair and Immediate Past Chair positions are not elected positions - the Chair-Elect becomes Chair upon the end of the Chair's term, and the Chair becomes Immediate Past Chair upon end of term

The Governance Committee shall issue a call for nominations to the membership prior to the selection process, listing the elective office positions available and the necessary qualifications.  The Governance Committee shall review nominations and recommend a single slate of candidates to be presented to LeadingAge Florida members at the Annual Membership Business Meeting at the Convention in July 2019.

A.      An applicant must be a designated official representative of a LeadingAge Florida Regular Member Community.

B.      An applicant for all positions, except Secretary and Treasurer, must be affiliated with a LeadingAge Florida regular member community for at least four (4) years. (Employed by a member for four years.) 

C.      An applicant for Secretary or Treasurer must be affiliated with a LeadingAge Florida regular member community for at least three (3) years.  (Employed by a member for three years.)

D.      “No individual shall serve on the Board for more than eight (8) consecutive years not including any time served as a Region Chair, Chair-Elect, or Immediate Past Chair, …”

E.       Application Deadline:  May 17, 2019

F.       Term Limit:  Two-Year Term
