Webinar: What's Happening with Antibiotics in LTC

This webinar will review how developing an antibiotic stewardship program will promote the appropriate use of antibiotics, improve patient outcomes, reduce microbial resistance, and decrease the spread of infections caused by multi-drug-resistant organisms. A description of current practices and complications that can result, including barriers to change and opportunities to develop strategies for monitoring and implementing changes to antibiotic use, will be shared.

Target Audience: MDS Nurses, Director of Nursing, Nurse Managers, Nursing Home Administrators, Nursing staff and leaders

Teaching/Learning Methods: Lecture, visual presentation materials, case examples/case studies, question and answer

Instructional Level: Intermediate

Contact Hours: Up to 1.5 contact hours of credit for Nursing Home Administrators, Nurses and Social Workers.

Peggy Morrison, MSN, RN, BC, CEAL, WCC, QCP, Assured Partners
Peggy is the Senior Risk Management consultant for AssuredPartners/Risk Management Solutions. She manages an established senior living book of business in order to assist clients in minimizing exposure to professional liability and improving regulatory outcomes. She has served as a Director of Nursing, a Regional Director of Clinical Service and a VP of Clinical Operations, and has over 29 years of experience in the senior living industry. Peggy is board certified in geriatrics by American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). She is also a Certified Executive in Assisted Living, and holds current certifications in wound care, Quality Assurance Performance Improvement and is a Certified Director of Nursing through NADONA. She has presented education regarding best risk management practices to multiple Health Care Associations.
