SMMC Medicaid LTC Health Plan In-Service Webinar

This webinar will provide an explanation of the Medicaid LTC Health Plans policies and procedures. 

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand expectations for case management and authorization requirements.
  • Learn about provider portals, billing and payment parameters.
  • Understand how and when to contact health plans including important contact and phone number information.

Target Audience: Executive Administration, Nursing Administration, Nursing Home Administrators, Department Managers, Quality Assurance Director, Compliance Directors, Admissions Staff, Billing Staff, Referral Nurses, Social Workers

Speaker Information:

Dana W. McHugh, Principal, HMA
Dana McHugh has expertise in managed care (Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial), network development, association leadership, and long-term care administration and insurance contracting. Prior to joining HMA, Dana was the executive director of FAHA H&S Corporation, a subsidiary of LeadingAge Florida representing Florida non-profit long-term care communities. Dana was responsible for contract negotiation, health system relationships, and education resources for LeadingAge Florida/FAHA H&S member providers.

Dana has over 20 years of management experience in the healthcare industry, including two stints as executive director for successful Florida (statewide) HMOs. Additionally, Dana was the state director of provider operations for Prestige Health Choice. Her managed care leadership experience includes three start-up HMOs (providing Medicare, Medicaid and/or Commercial products) where Dana handled virtually all aspects of market/network development and management including: provider contract negotiation, recruiting and developing staff, recruiting and training sales teams, and budget management for the region. She is a graduate of Barry University with a degree in business administration.


Registration: This webinar is offered FREE for FAHA H&S members. The webinar is $80 for all other LeadingAge Florida members and $120 for prospective members. Registration is required in order to receive the webinar link Register your community and invite as many of your employees to participate as you wish. The fees apply to each phone line that connects to the webinar. 


Cancellations: All cancellations must be in writing. A $25 administrative fee will be charged for all cancellations. No refunds for cancellations will be made after December 4, 2018.
