Medicare Reimbursement Update Workshop

This workshop will review information on what has happened, what's happening and what's likely to happen with Medicare reimbursement. It will be presented in two parts. Part one will include the impact on financial performance of Value Based Purchasing, Quality Reporting and a RCS update (if applicable). Part two will be comprised of a PBJ Update and discussion about how 5-star ratings are affected and affect rates.

Deb Freeland, CPA, Principal, Health Care, CliftonLarsonAllen LLP is a principal with the health care group specializing in reimbursement services for senior living facilities and hospitals. She has extensive experience handling the distinctive issues facing health care organizations in today’s challenging environment. Her experience includes Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement for hospitals and senior living facilities, including cost report preparation.

Carl Moellenkamp, CPA, Director, Health Care, CliftonLarsonAllen LLP serves as an engagement director on the senior living team. Carl serves a variety of senior living and healthcare clients based on his 30 years of experience as a CFO, controller, auditor, and consultant. He brings extensive experience in the nonprofit industry with a special focus on senior living and social service entities. Carl offers versatile advisory capabilities and experience in leadership strategy, financial and operational analytics and reporting, project management and software implementation.

Registration Fee: The early bird discount rate has been extended until March 30! LeadingAge Florida member early bird discount rate is $125 and prospective member rate is $225. After March 30, rates increase by $50. Rate includes lunch, educational materials, and a certificate of attendance. 

Contact Hours: Up to four (4) contact hours of credit for nursing home administrators, nurses and clinical social workers licensed in Florida.

Cancellations/Refunds/Substitutions: There is a $50 administrative fee for each cancellation or refund. All cancellations must be in writing. Substitutions will be accepted at no additional fee. Due to costs incurred related to the workshop, no refunds will be issued after March 23, 2018. All cancellations and substitution requests must be sent to or faxed to (850) 671-3790.

Scholarships Available: The Scott Boord Career Development Scholarship Program gives members an opportunity to attend Aging Services programs and education events for those that otherwise would be unable to participate because of financial limitations.
