Join LeadingAge Florida’s Clinical and Compliance Specialist Connie Cheren RN, MSW as she discusses how to use the Long-Term Care Survey Process to have a deficiency free survey. Survey findings under the new Long-Term Survey Process will be reviewed and strategies to avoid them discussed. Click here for the agenda.

  • Understand how to use the critical element pathways to assess compliance
  • Identify the survey sample size and ways to ensure no deficient practices
  • Understand how to tour your kitchen through the eyes of a surveyor
  • Strategies to avoid deficient practices in Resident Council review

     

Speaker Biography:
Connie is the President of Quality Care Assurance, where she has helped hundreds of long-term care facilities and thousands of long-term care professionals understand and successfully meet state and federal standards. Using experience gained in developing and implementing innovative regulatory systems for Illinois and Florida, she developed new facility assessment protocols, procedures and materials to teach improved care planning and restorative care. Connie developed a variety of advanced approaches for streamlining facility management, clinical care practice, quality assurance/continuous quality improvement, and risk management, while enhancing regulatory compliance. Connie is widely recognized as a leader in the effort to make restorative and rehabilitative care a “theory in use” and for her contributions toward improving the quality of long-term care

Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, Nurse Managers, Nursing Home Administrators, Nursing Staff and Leaders, Quality Assurance Director, Social Services, Rehabilitation Services

Registration Fees:
LeadingAge Florida member early discount rate is $150 and prospective member rate is $250, ends February 12. After February 12, rates increase by $50. Includes lunch and educational materials, and a certificate of attendance.

Contact Hours:
LeadingAge Florida is providing up to 6 contact hours of credit for nursing home administrators, nurses and clinical social workers licensed in Florida.

Cancellations/Refunds/Substitutions:
There is a $50 administrative fee for each cancellation or refund. All cancellations must be in writing. Substitutions will be accepted at no additional fee. Due to costs incurred related to the workshop, no refunds will be issued after February 6, 2018. Scholarships Available
The Scott Boord Career Development Scholarship Program gives members an opportunity to attend Aging Services programs and education events for those that otherwise would be unable to participate because of financial limitations.
