Program Highlights:

The AHCA 2017 Joint Training for Assisted Living Facilities offers interpretations of regulatory compliance by leaders from the Agency for Health Care Administration and Department of Elder Affairs. Clinical and legal professionals will also highlight best practice guidelines and professional guidance. Networking tables will also be available from Florida's Long Term Care Ombudsman and other LTC stakeholders.This year's agenda includes:

  • Role and Responsibility of Hospice in Assisted Living: Florida Hospice & Palliative Care Association
  • Top 10 Deficiencies and Hot Tops/Increase in Immediate Jeopardies - Examples & Citation Reasoning: Jana Meyering
  • Who Can Sign? Advance Directives, Authorizations and Arbitrations: Karen Goldsmith, Goldsmith & Grout, PA
  • Legionnaires & Other Health Updates: Florida Department of Health
  • Agency Updates: Clearinghouse, Unlicensed Facilities, Refunds & More
  • Medication Management - Interpretation of Assistance
  • New Assisted Living Rule: Jana Meyering and Ann Sosiak

Continuing Education:

Approved for Six (6) hours of continuing education – Provider Number 50-720: Florida Board of Nursing Home Administrators, Florida Board of Nursing, Florida Board of Clinical Social Work. Contact FHCA at (850) 224-3907 or with any questions.

Attendee Information:

Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. and the program runs from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm (lunch and breaks included).

Registration Fees:

(includes 6 contact hours, handouts, breaks, and lunch)
$150 - Registrant
On-site registration fees increase $50 in each category.


Advanced registration closes August 30. All registrations after that date must be made onsite for an additional $50 fee. *Registrations without payment will not be processed. Registrations cannot be taken by phone.

Cancellation Policy:

All cancellations must be in writing. A $50 administrative fee will be charged for each cancellation. No refunds will be given for cancellations received less than 5 business days prior to the seminar.
